Bethany's book is currently the only resource material on Amazon for those seeking to enter the world of retail cannabis sales as a budtender. As that is my current interest, I purchased the Kindle version and read it in a day. The information is concisely written and the information easy to understand for both cannabis novices and aficionados alike. However, towards the end, she begins to fall into the cliche argument that cannabis is the savior for the USA's current "opioid crisis": a fallacy that I disagree with completely. As a paramedic, I have seen firsthand that there is a clear distinction between chronic pain patients who need opiate medications to survive and people who abuse street drugs like heroin, etc. To say that "opiates are bad" and "cannabis is good" is a patently false. Each medication has value and place in pharmacopeia; to demonize one to strengthen the other is disingenuous to say the least. I felt Bethany's work would have been much more honest to avoid that tactic entirely and just tout cannabis for what it is and not try to claim it is a replacement for opiate medications or the cure for this drug-war propaganda's "crisis". Believe me, when you've just been in a car crash and have multiple traumas you will want morphine, Fentanyl, etc. ASAP. Though cannabinoids do offer pain relief to a limit, they certainly cannot and should not replace medications that help suffering and severe pain that only opium-derived medicines can. Aside from that, this book stands on solid ground and should be on your list of publications for anyone interested in the Green Wave and wants to join the rush.
